The Roving Richards

A family on the move

Lazy Day

Friday, June 27th, 2014

We had toyed with the idea of going to Capri today but we would have had to get up early and it was going to take all day and Mark and I don’t remember liking Capri all that much anyway so we agreed to just hang in Sorrento another day. In retrospect, it might have been better to add this day in Sorrento to Rome, but if we’d done that we wouldn’t have gotten the ocean/pool access passes with our apartment, and we all did love that part, so maybe it was okay.

PhotoWe got a late start and then walked up the hill to find the hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon, which we did eventually Photolocate. Then we walked back through Sorrento, stopping for lunch at this little restaurant that only served whatever they had made that day, which in this case was caponata and cheese and salami and focaccia which was just fine with us. After that, we headed back to our apartment where I realized the page I’d printed out for the train tickets was not in fact the thing we needed with the barcodes and because I didn’t have data on my phone I wasn’t going to be able to show the conductor the right page on my phone. So I went downstairs and the lady at the front desk said if I emailed her the pages, she’d print them, which she did. Whew, crisis averted (it turns out usually the conductor can just enter in the code that was on the page I printed, but I am not one to take a chance if I can help it). After that, we went to the ocean and pool for the remainder of the day. We went to dinner again at Inn Bufalito because it was just that good.
