Oh, the end of a vacation is just never good. We got up bright and early to have breakfast before the Xandari shuttle took us to the airport. We got there two hours before our flight, and stood in the long line to check in, got through and went through security where they took Genevieve’s child scissors (but not Charlotte’s) and her scotch tape which I totally don’t understand because how on earth could you ever use that as a weapon? We went to spend our remaining colones on souvenirs. We found some good stuff, like little carved toucans for Genevieve’s friends, but in general we should have finished our shopping sooner. We boarded the plane, and Mark smuggled in some water (even if you buy it past security you’re not allowed to bring it on the plane) which was good because everyone was thirsty. The flights home were fine, the kids behaved but no extra seats this time, darn it. Once home, we found everything more or less as we had left it with the addition of our now very skinny prodigal cat. And back to reality after our two weeks in paradise.
