Rain at BdC

Friday, June 28, 2013

The rain that had started last night continued all night, such hard rain and thunder and lightening. I kept thinking if it rained like that in San Jose, California, how clean our cars would be!  We all took a rain shower in the outside shower, it was hard to tell which had the greater water pressure, the water coming from the rain shower head or the rain itself. And unfortunately a solar water heater only works when there’s sun, so the temp of the water was all the same too! We went to breakfast and then settled in the upstairs loft to play on the very fast Wifi and read and whatever. We had been scheduled to climb an old strangler fig and rappel down the outside but that tour was cancelled. Right before lunch it seemed like the rain was lightening up so we tried to go for a short hike behind the restaurant but the downpour started again and even with our raincoats on we got drenched. So we got to eat lunch sopping wet, all for what turned out to be a ten minute hike!

After lunch the girls and I got really sick of hanging out so we got a couple of umbrellas and went back onto the trail. Guess what? You can hike with an umbrella at Bosque del Cabo! It worked pretty well. We saw lots of dart frogs but not much else. Oh well, what are you going to do? We enjoyed drinks before dinner and dinner at least.
