We had purchased our tickets through Priceline because the cost of flights was so high that we couldn’t just book our preferred itinerary directly with the airline. We got a call about a month after we booked our flights on United  to tell us that our connection through LAX was cancelled and we’d have to stay in that airport for 20 hours now. Uh, no, we don’t think so! So we argued and spent basically a day on the phone and got new tickets that had us leaving San Jose, California at 6am, then hanging out at the Houston airport for six hours, and then arriving in Costa Rica at 9:30 pm. Hey, it was better! So that’s what we did, got up super early and took the uneventful flight. We hung out all over the Houston Airport (watch for the crazy cart drivers – pedestrians DO NOT have the right of way) and especially enjoyed the Desigual outlet – what a strange place to have one! On our flight from Houston to Costa Rica we were upgraded to Economy Plus, wow, that’s so much nicer. I think we’ll pay for that next time! Our driver was waiting to take us to the Adventure Inn, but the other people he was waiting for hadn’t arrived yet so we still needed to wait about a half hour. We got to the Adventure Inn, where they were very nice and speedy in getting us checked in. Nice place!
